Development log for Boozehound
We started out making this game for a game jam called “Seattle Indies Slow Jam 2021” https://itch.io/jam/seattle-indies-slow-jam-2021
However soon we found our projecting ballooning into a stressful and asset heavy game, so we missed the deadline for it and it froze in development until we came across this game jam and we had the idea to try and improve and or finish it for this game jam in order to challenge ourselves and see what we could come up with.
In the previous build we only had a skeleton version of what we have now, basically we improved on every mechanic and added some new ones including
- Pushing cabinets
- Drinking alcohol
- Adding in post processing effects
Then what was left was just to finish the game with new puzzles, sounds etc. There were still a lot of things we wanted to add and a lot of things we had to cut from the game in order to meet the deadline.
Unfortunately we don't have a lot of screenshots of the early prototype as we did not plan on making a dev log or to join any improvement game jams.
